Liddie 2 Years

Note from Bubba-
Liddie I wanted a page that would bring a smile to your face. I hope this does the trick!

Happy Anniversary

Quit May 18th, 2004
Years!
It's hard to believe it's my second anniversary of not smoking.
Sometimes it seems like it was just yesterday that I quit. I'm not going to say it has been without any temptations. There have been times when I have thought about smoking a cigarette. But it's mostly just a passing thought. I don't think I would have made it if not for the people in freedom village. You guys have always been there for me. You are truly friends.

It is so nice not to smell like cigarettes. I believe now I can truly say I will never smoke another cigarette. Just think 24 months. That sure seems like a long time to me. I hope this makes sense. I am not good at expressing my feelings in words. But I want you all to know I love you guys.

Liddie

Liddie,

I'm so happy to be here to help you celebrate your 2 year anniversary! You're a treasured friend who is so very important to all of us. You've touched our hearts and it has been an honor to share your journey with you. I wish you all the best on your big day! May God's light always shine on you and may you always be blessed.

Love your friend,
Kim

Savannah Georgia - The Savannah Fountain

Liddie you don't know me, but I know you and your experience over the past year. Hang in there, I did, I am coming up on my 4 year Anniversary next month.

Amazing after 40 years and 2 pack a day. 2 years ago I lost me leg due to an accident (plus I did have diabetes and constricted veins after all that smoking, it didn't help). But I survived have an above the knee amputation, just now getting really good with my leg, and not using any support (canes or crutches), by the way, I am coming up on 62 yrs old, they really didn't want to give me the $62000 micro-chip leg that has to be charged up every night, but I won and proving them wrong, only time my tail see that wheel chair, is when I take the leg off to charge it up at night.

All that is to tell you, your dreams can still come true and some day they will just like mine, just did. I will serve (after 25 yrs service) as the Adjutant of the Savannah GA St Patrick's Day Parade next March 17th. ; (note: we are the 2nd largest St Pat Parade in America, NY being 1st, but We probably have as many NY cops and firemen in our parade as they do) Savannah has a population of 150,000, this past year on a Friday, we had 10,000 in the parade and 600,000 on the 3 mile route watching it. The Adjutant is responsible for establishing the line up and putting the parade on the Street. We start tonight May 16, putting together next years parade. What does all that have to do with you, very little, but I hope It took your mind off yourself for just a moment and help you realize that Dreams do come true.

CONGRATULATIONS on being free from smoking for 2 Years! I and the Village have known you most of those 2 years and what a blessin' it has been to have you with us. When you became ill and had to leave us, I don't know about anyone else, but I felt....a void in our community. It was a feeling I can't explain. Just know we love you and very proud of your great achievement and ((((Liddie)))))......remember.....it's never, ever too late to quit....you've proved that time and again.

Now sit back, relax, close your eyes and imagine all of us sitting on a beach celebrationg with you, drinking iced tea and watching the sun set....watching it rise....yeah I like that better

Bubba
